What: A U.S. Kids Golf Instructor is recognized as an expert in teaching golf to kids age 12 and under. Each instructor uses an established curriculum that features game-based learning methods and play on a scaled golf course.
What are the requirements to become a Certified Instructor?
- Attend a Certified Instructor seminar.
- Score 80% or better on the Certified Coach test. The USKG test will be emailed upon the conclusion of the seminar.
- Complete and pass the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach: Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons online course and test. The voucher code to take the PCA course and test for free will be emailed upon the conclusion of the seminar. If you have registered for a seminar and wish to take the PCA course and test in advance, please contact coach@uskidsgolf.com and the voucher code will be sent. USKG will not reimburse for PCA courses completed without the voucher code.
To maintain an active Certified Coach status the following guidelines must be met:
- Maintain an account with U.S. Kids Golf. As a Certified Coach you have the option of being associated to a facility account, open an account in your name or become a U.S. Kids Golf Affiliate account.
- Incorporate the USKG Player Pathway into your curriculum.
- Install the USKG Forward Tees at your facility within two years of your certification or have access to a golf course that offers our recommended Forward Tees yardages. Contact us for more details on Forward Tees.
- Update your profile on the USKG website.

Certified Coach – The Certified Coach program is the essential first step for golf professionals to launch and maintain a successful youth golf program. Certified Coaches are introduced to the Player Pathway and games-based learning strategies that make golf fun and effective for beginners. Through this program, coaches gain practical solutions to plan, build, and grow a youth golf program. They learn how properly fitted equipment supports player development and makes instruction more efficient. The program emphasizes parent involvement as a key factor in creating trust and adding value.
Pathway Certified Outdoor –A program that blends an on-course and practice range experience to deliver the five key checkpoints of the Player Pathway: Putting, Around the Green, Full Swing, Scoring, and Knowledge.
Pathway Certified Indoor –A program that delivers the Player Pathway experience and five key checkpoints in Putting, Around the Green, Full Swing, Scoring and Knowledge in a simulator environment and modified practice putting area.
Continuing Education: Earn 8 MSR credits, completion of the PCA test earn 2 MSR credits.
