For many years we’ve used member survey data to track technology usage in golf coaching. In the recently released 2026 Proponent Group Operations and Compensation Survey we look at six key technology areas: Launch monitors, cameras, video analysis software, lesson scheduling software, student performance tracking software and a catchall category of additional teaching technologies. Here’s what we found.
Launch Monitors
Trackman (71 percent usage), Foresight (30 percent) and FlightScope (23 percent) have been the top three launch monitors for the past five-plus years. Over the past seven years Trackman is up 21 percentage points, Foresight is up 16 points and FlightScope is down 4 points. Fullswing was up 3 points in fourth place at 11 percent market share. Only 1 percent of our coaches report not using a launch monitor when they teach.
Cameras
Apple owns this category, with 87 percent of coaches using either an iPhone (53 percent) or an iPad (34 percent) to film their students’ swings. Only 1 percent of coaches said they don’t film student swings.
Video Analysis Software
Coach Now continues to lead after overtaking V1 two years ago as the most used video analysis software at 21 percent market share. That total is down 3 points from a year ago. Trackman has moved into second place with 19 percent penetration after jumping 7 points from a year ago. Onform has climbed into third position at 18 percent after seeing an increase of 6 points in the survey. Meanwhile, V1 is now in fourth at 15 percent. As more options continue to come into this space, we saw 12 software packages scoring at least 1 percent usage.
Lesson Scheduling Software
Electronic scheduling remains extremely fragmented with very little movement at the top of the chart. USchedule continues to lead in market share at 19 percent (down 1 point from last year’s survey). CoachNow moves into second place at 17 percent after absorbing the Thrivsports scheduler into its software package. Acuity was up 1 point to 10 percent usage, good for third place. The basic iPhone calendar sits in fourth place at 5 percent usage. Nearly 20 other options were mentioned by our coaches, including many who use software not specifically designed for the golf industry. Interestingly, those using their PGA of America paper calendars still make up 3 percent of respondents.
On Course Student Performance Tracking Software
Operation 36 racked up the top position with 18 percent market share. Clippd took the runner-up position after trading places with Decade. Clippd was up 3 points to 17 percent penetration while Decade held steady at 16 percent. Arrcos came in fourth at 13 percent. Upgame by Trackman took the fifth position at 11 percent. Twelve different tracking software packages registered at least 1 percent market share in yet another fragmented portion of this software market.
Additional Teaching Technologies
The top spot for the eighth year in a row is Blast Motion, in use by 45 percent of our member coaches, down 4 points from a year ago. Sportsbox AI–with 42 percent of our coaches using their technology—is comfortably in second place ahead of The Stack System (34 percent), HackMotion (29 percent) and SAM PuttLab (25 percent).
